Two or more videos are added every week. These videos, lasting between ten to thirty minutes, utilize various teaching methods, imagery, diagrams, real-world examples, and text reading to convey Neijing research ideas.
Certainly! The Neijing introduces us to the worldview of ancient Chinese thinkers, meeting it for the first time is like travelling to a foreign country, like learning a second language. Multiple ways of taking in the new information are necessary. Different ideas and insights cross fertilize each other and grow over time. Students can follow each week's topic sequentially, or they have the freedom to explore their interests in the growing body of recorded commentaries in a non-linear, circular manner.
There are diverse learning choices. In the theory and scholarship sections, students have access to all videos. They can either follow a topic as it is laid out over the course of a number of lectures or explore specific areas of interest within the extensive range of subjects provided.
Videos are released weekly and must be followed in sequence allowing students time to integrate ideas, movements and skills. This approach mimics in-person training. Students have access to all previously watched videos as well as diverse resources in the library and Special courses sections.
The Theory and Scholarship sections cover a wide array of topics aiming to give a comprehensive commentary on the Neijing text and the ideas it expounds. The course provides in-depth analysis through methods like textual archaeology, line-by-line analysis of important passages, historical analysis, modern research, and character studies. There are also optional quizzes and journaling exercises to enhance learning.
